The Application Process The application process begins when a potential respite care provider submits their resume to CRRS. The applicants are applying to CRRS to have their information listed on the Respite Care Provider Registry, from which they will be referred to a family. A security check and references are required to complete the application and screening process. You can submit your resume to CRRS from this link resumes@respite.ca. The Orientation CRRS provides an orientation for each applicant to explain the screening and referral process. At this meeting CRRS collects the applicant's information about what type of respite services they are interested in offering families. The potential respite care provider also provides CRRS with the security and background information necessary for CRRS to assemble their personnel file. The Interview After reviewing the applicant's personnel file, the family will contact the potential respite care provider to arrange an interview. The family and the care provider will discuss the details of the respite arrangement, and if both parties are satisfied, some respite hours are scheduled. The Respite Care Provider Handbook The Respite Care Provider Handbook was designed to assist independent respite care providers develop their own respite service. The Handbook reviews some basic information about respite, how our services operate and how care providers might manage their respite service.
